Spoon Making Class

Service Description

This is a great introductory class for all skill levels. We will cover: - Layout, design, and wood choice. - Proper carving techniques using spoon gouges, sloyd knives, and hand rasps. - Finishing techniques for food safe applications and longevity of the finished spoons. Each student can bring their own design or choose from my selection of templates. I provide Walnut, Maple, and Cherry hardwoods for students to mix and match for carving stock. The goal of the class depending on the student's pace, is that each student would leave the class with two spoons finished, and a third well on it's way for completion at their home shop.
